Frozen Screen

A screen with multiple tables is frozen and it will not close. I tried to Force Quit and the only option I receive is relaunch. I have shut down twice and it still appears.

I can use the system in Chrome if I pull up another browser, however the screen behind it will not respond.

If your screen is frozen and you are unable to close it or force quit the app, there are a few things you can try:

  1. Restart your MacBook: Restarting your MacBook may help resolve the issue if it is caused by a minor software glitch. To restart your MacBook, click the Apple menu in the top left corner of the screen and select "Restart."
  2. Force quit the app: If the app is still responsive, you can try force quitting it by following these steps:
  • Press and hold the Command (⌘) and Control (Ctrl) keys on your keyboard.
  • Press the power button on your keyboard (usually labeled "Esc" or "Eject").
  • Release all keys.

If the app is unresponsive, you may not be able to force quit it using this method.

  1. Use the Terminal: If the app is unresponsive and you are unable to force quit it using the above method, you can try using the Terminal app to force quit it. To do this, follow these steps:
  • Open the Terminal app (located in the "Utilities" folder in the "Applications" folder).
  • Type the following command and press Enter: "top -o cpu".
  • Locate the process for the app that is frozen (it will be the one using the most CPU).
  • Note the process ID number (PID) for the app.
  • Type the following command and press Enter: "kill [PID]", replacing "[PID]" with the actual process ID number for the app.

This should force quit the app and close the frozen screen.

I hope these suggestions are helpful and that you are able to resolve the issue with your frozen screen. If you continue to have problems, you may need to contact Apple support for further assistance.
