subscription cancellation

When I go to subscriptions (via setting>Apple ID) to cancel my ESPN subscription (which is about to increase from $69 to $99 this month), the only option provided is to renew - there's no button to cancel! There's an option to switch to monthly, but no option to cancel... Apple what's going on here!?!?

Your subscription has already been cancelled. This is also why the button is not there. It also says that Subscription expires soon, which means that your subscription closes on 28 January.

You can probably use your service with ESPN until then. So no worries.

That is also correct. It is also correct that if you have not canceled your subscription, you should pay on 28 January. But on the screenshot you posted in your first post, I can see that the subscription is closed because it says EXPIRES on 28 January. If it had said Renew on 28 January, and there wasn't a cancel button, then I would be a little worried.

Don't worry, Apple has things under control. When you create a subscription through your Apple ID, you are on the safe side. If it says your subscription has been cancelled, you can trust it.
