iPhone Disconnects from Wi-Fi when screen is off

Hi,

I have a iPhone SE 2020 and whenever I turn the screen off and turn it back on a few minutes, hours or whenever later, it is disconnected from our wifi and it takes around 5 seconds to reconnect. I am trying to figure out if there is a solution for this. It does say that our wifi is unsecured, so maybe that's the issue?

Greetings Knox_Vinny,

Have you had a chance to determine if the same thing happens when using a different Wi-Fi network or a secure network? Here are the recommended settings for Wi-Fi - Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

Let’s be sure to also work through these steps -

  1. Restart your iPhone - Restart your iPhone
  2. Restart your router and cable or DSL modem by unplugging the device and then plugging it back in.
  3. Make sure you iPhone is up to date - Update your iPhone or iPad
  4. Reset your network settings - If your iPhone or iPad won't connect to a Wi-Fi network
If you're using iOS or iPadOS 15 or later, tap Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

If you're using iOS or iPadOS 14 or earlier, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you've used before.

Thanks.
