Cannot delete files in "Recently Deleted" in Files app: "You need to authenticate before accesing this item."

As the titles says I can delete certian files in the recently deleted section. It prompts me with the "You need to authenticate before accessing this item." and it gives an "OK" button. Tapping on the "OK: button does nothing. All these files I wish to delete are google drive files. I logged in through the google drive app and still prompts me the error.

Can anyone assess this issue?
