Sort email by sender (alphabetically) still not solved for iPad

I see there is still no solution to the “ sort email by sender” using the iPad only. To rapidly group accumulated e-mail by sender ( alphabetically) makes it easier to delete several at a time. Though this is available on the Mac (desktop or laptop) it is not on the iPad. The suggestion to tap or hold the “upper left” icon or the “lower left circle with 3 lines” does not provide the solution. A simple drop down labeled “sort by” ; recent, oldest, sender, alphabetical….” seems like a reasonable request. I thought the goal of Apple was to have all applications work the same across their devices. As a user since 1975, this goal is not experienced in many apps. Perhaps more specific videos ( by Apple) showing the correct solution would be better than pushing that down to the end user via FAQ’s. A well intended but wrong solution is still a wrong solution no matter how frequently (FWS) you see it in the FAQs.
