Apple ID

How do I eliminate an old email address that used to be my apple ID, but it has been eliminated many years ago. Whenever I try to sign into my iMessage account on my iMac it pops up with a very old email that no long exists. I can't seem to get by this. Help!

You may have signed into iMessage with a different ID:


1. Go to “Settings” from the home screen of your iPhone or iPad.

2. In the settings menu, scroll down and tap on “Messages” to change the settings for iMessage.

3. Tap on “Send & Receive”.

4. Tap on your Apple ID at the bottom to access more options.

5. Tap on “Sign Out” to continue.

6. Tap on “Use your Apple ID for iMessage”.

7. Tap on “Sign In”.
