Pinch to Zoom not working on MacOS Ventura

I work in product design, so naturally rely on the ability to pinch to zoom in and out of wireframes, UIs, and workflows - an action I probably perform a thousand times daily. It's honestly becoming a make-or-break for me - switched from Windows about a year ago and the constant flow interruptions are such that I want to switch back, only for that reason.

Curious whether this has happened to anyone else on Ventura with a Mac M2. I have found posts of this ilk back 5 years or so, so I'm surprised that Apple dev hasn't looked at it?

The current stable release of Ventura including bug fixes,  security updates  is macOS Ventura 13.3  see if that changes anything for you. report back your success or failure.

Iam also facing the problem on the new MacBook Pro M2. This is quite frustrating and I want a solution. This is happening every now and then. when iam intensely working this stops ,I feel like throwing the computer. Please give a solution "Apple".

I'm experiencing the same issue on a M2 Macbook Air with macOS Ventura 13.1.

It's very annoying and a major usability issue for any kind of design work (such as Figma, Miro etc.) in browsers (so far I had the issue on various websites using Chrome, Edge and Opera) and I've even experienced the occasional disfunction of pinch-to-zoom on desktop apps (e.g. Shapr3d). Thus I believe that this a general issue which needs to be fixed via a software update.

Please prioritise solving this problem, thanks!

The git repository has 262 stars and according to the developer the bug is there since Monterey.

With so many people reporting this bug until now, how on earth has Apple still not fixed this?

This is a problem for me too but with M2 Mac and 13.2.1, not 13.1. It seems crazy that this bug would be allowed to linger for so many updates that someone thought it necessary to create a bug-fixing app. The bugginess of Ventura is sure taking away the joy of getting a new Mac.

The update doesn't mention fixing the pinch to zoom. Shouldn't need a third party app to get the OS to work like it should. Ventura has been a real fuster cluck - there is a print presets issue that they have also refused to acknowledge/fix.

Pinch to zoom wasn't working for me either. I use a Logitech MX anywhere mouse connected via Bluetooth. When I turned off Bluetooth, pinch to zoom starting working just fine. So something is clashing with the 3rd party bluetooth mouse.

OK, I just accidentally found a workaround - hold down the option key then pinch to zoom. After that it's working like normal again.

When it happens to me, I go into System Settings > Trackpad > Scroll and Zoom, and then toggle "Zoom in or out" off and back on. Then it zooms again.
