I have one email that I cannot delete. I’ve tried all the advice that I’ve seen online. In settings it’s definitely checked trash on the server and not on the iPhone. I’ve deleted all my emails in my trash folder. I have tried everything and this one email which is based on a chat will not delete. What else can I do? Thanks for your expertise and help

Thanks so much for your great advice. After posting this question, I found a different trail through settings that solved the problem. It was settings > mail> Sympatico >account>Account (again)>advanced>Deleted mailbox on my phone >trash (be sure it is checked and it wasn’t in my case). Then close up those steps and click “done” when it appears. That solved it!

To help us get a better understanding of the issue, we’d like to ask a few questions.
1. Is this happening in the Apple Mail app, or another application?
2. What happens when you try to delete that email? Do you receive an error message?
3. If you do get an error message, what does the error say?

• Touch and hold an email from your Inbox, then tap Trash Message from the menu.
• Tap the Archive buttonor the Trash button
from within an email.
You can also use the steps to delete multiple emails to delete a single email.
