Since downloading Ventura my hp 8020e keeps going offline continually, even in the middle of a print job!

What do I need to do to get this printer to stay online? Thanks! Tam

Hi,

The HP OfficeJet Pro 8020e All-in One Printer is a model supporting the AirPrint technology (About AirPrint - Apple Support). Is this your printer? This has been posted in the Windows Compatibility forum, but your profile indicates a MacBook and macOS 10.15. The question says Ventura. Please confirm the exact macOS version.

Are you using AirPrint? That is, a Mac computer does not need additional drivers, provided that the printer and the computer are connected to the same network (Wi-Fi router).

AirPrint works with wireless (Wi-Fi) or wired (Ethernet) network connections. Since the 8020e appears to have Ethernet (in addition to Wi-Fi), you could choose to wire the printer to one of the LAN ports of the Wi-Fi router instead. This may improve stability.

If all settings are OK, and if there is a problem with device discovery, you could try the following power-cycle sequence (with these waiting times; do not forget the router): Power off the Wi-Fi router, the printer, the Mac, and all other connected devices/computers. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the router. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the printer. Wait a minute or two. Power on the Mac. Finally, power on all other devices/computers.
