trying to update my MacBook Pro mid 2012 edition and it is currently running iOS el capitan and i was wondering how i can get a newer iOS on it

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, click here, and then on the download link for a newer OS. That model's maximum is Catalina.


Catalina and higher won't run 32-bit software; download and use Go64 as well as using the first link above.


For reference, Macs run macOS, not iOS.
