Removing Login Items

Hi, I recently downloaded Loopback for my Mac, and I noticed it added some background tasks. I turned it off, but it kept saying, "Rouge Amoeba Audio Capture Engine added background tasks" but I don't see anything. Is this a virus? Is there a way to remove or delete this? It's been popping up every 5 minutes or so. Please help!

I don't know Loopback specifically.

To remove things which are automatically going on, go in to System Settings.. (from the apple icon on the top left of the screen) > General > Login items

and then either remove them from the 'Open at Login' section or disable them in the 'Allow in the Background' section.

If you make any changes in there, restart your computer afterwards to make sure the changes are effective.

It sounds like you did not use the correct uninstallation procedure for this app. Follow the directions posted here: https://rogueamoeba.com/support/knowledgebase/?showArticle=UninstallingLoopback

You will need to reinstall Loopback to do this.

Just so you know, DO NOT use that new “Login Items / Background Task” user interface in Ventura for any reason. Maybe in a couple of years developers will have updated their software to be compatible, or more likely, discontinued their products entirely. But until then, it is not safe to use that interface.
