It’s not a data issue, it’s an app display / rendering issue. If you zoom in enough the data is there, and when you try and pull back it vanishes.

I have used dark sky for probably 10 years, until the day it finally shut down. Never had this issue so clearly the native Apple weather app developers are having a hard time making an essential app after they revoked the app I used daily. Great.

Thanks for letting us know, BeagleMom11,

Do you experience the same behavior if you're connected to an alternate network such as a different Wi-Fi network or a cellular network?

You can also delete and reinstall the Weather app. This may help you: If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open

If you have any VPN or security software installed on your devices, this can also impact your network connection which would prevent the app from loading properly. This article will show you how to check: Check VPN (Virtual Private Network) and third-party software to help resolve network connectivity issues

If you're unable to isolate this behavior further, we would suggest that you contact Apple directly to investigate this further with you. They'd be best suited to help. You can reach them here: Contact Apple Support

Take care!

My phone is up to date and has been restarted, as is my iPad, as is the Apple Weather app on my devices. The issue remains. The issue is in Apple’s Weather app that replaced Dark Sky - the issue is not in Maps. I checked my other weather sources and there was and is no void of radar data around the area. Now when I click on the precipitation map in Apple Weather app, it brings up the entire country, not my area. Y’all have some problems and you need to fix them.

please provide a solution. Thank you.

iPhone SE v.2 MHG63LL/A ios 16.2; location: Boston, MA

I was having the radar "blocks" issue in Jan. I start on the home page, click on the stationary radar map, and get the radar screen. Now I get NO radar images on the 2-hr. moving radar unless I'm zoomed way out. If I'm zoomed out so Maine's northern border is at top of screen and VA/NC border is at bottom of screen, I get fine moving radar showing the rain that is falling now. If I zoom in just a little from there, the radar image disappears - just the map is left.

The stationary radar map at the bottom of the home page shows the rain fine.

[I deleted and reinstalled the weather app, tried it with WIFI only and Cellular only - nothing works]

I zoomed way out to see the whole USA, and radar map changed to the 12 hour map. I am able to zoom in on Boston and have the correct radar image. ??? Maybe the 2-hr. map is gronked???

the radar has been broken like this for so long - suspiciously long - what do they actually do over at apples headquarters? I could fill a book with apple’s outstanding and unresolved iOS / macOS bugs. -it’s not actually Houston that’s missing data - it’s wherever the user’s current location is. Aka the only part of the map I’m concerned about when I’m checking the weather… my current location.

I have the same issue for my location in Michigan. My iPhone is updated, I’ve restarted several times. The problem is inApple’s weather app that replaced Dark Sky. I get a close up of color-coded weather map (see screenshot) but not in the full screen (see screenshot); if I zoom out to the whole US, I get one band of info (See screenshot).
