Currently, I am seeing the same issue with next-hour precipitation not showing or "blocks" on all of my devices (e.g., MacBook Pro, iPhone, iPad, etc.), whether on 5G+ cellular or Wi-Fi. The 12-Hour Forecast feature is working, albeit slowly. Air Quality and Temperature are showing fine.
The only "workaround" I've yet discovered is zooming almost entirely all the way in to my location, and it will show the next-hour items.
Anecdotally, I am receiving the "rain starting/stopping" alerts fairly regularly here in formerly sunny Los Angeles. ☔️

Hi Hazey87,
Thank you for getting back to us. Something may have been damaged in the Weather app during the update. We would like to have you delete and then reinstall the Weather app on your iPhone. This support article will walk you through doing that: Delete built-in Apple apps from the Home Screen on your iOS 14 or later or iPadOS device or Apple Watch - Apple Support
Let us know how it goes.
Best regards.
Hi Hazey87,
Do you happen to use a VPN with your devices? If so, does the radar animation work as expected if it’s turned of or temporarily removed? Install or remove configuration profiles on iPhone - Apple Support
If not, we recommend reaching out to Apple Support directly: Get Support
All the best.
Hello there Hazey87,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities. With iPadOS 16, some features have changed in the Weather app, which were integrated from the Dark Sky app. This does include the Temperature view, which is in your screenshots.

This page shows how to get the Radar or Storm Tracker view:

No that’s not the issue, this was on a rainy day and settings were set to show radar of rain and not to mention every setting shows just like above showing only random squares and not across the whole map ! I’m a web developer I think I can manage using a weather app. Not to mention under the same settings before update none of this happens ever ! Face the facts this new update for weather app is not convenient nor does it work properly !
The weather map is so frustrating now - it only updates portions of the map. Zooming in and out doesn't help. The radar map worked great in DarkSky, so I'm not sure what's wrong with Apple's implementation.
I have the same issue on both my iPhone and iPad. Once you open the map, it’s just boxes over the map that don’t render the radar. This has been going on for months.
Is it the same for iPad 9
Me too
