about T5 ssd samsung

Hello,

I have a Samsung T5 ssd and have been using it for about two years. Recently, I added the password and the imac opens the T5 without any problems. But on macbook or other computers it says "software is out of date" and I can't login to Harddisk. What if I have to cancel the password but how?

Or I should install the latest "Samsung Portable SSD" drivers which I think I downloaded from the internet. In both cases I need help to achieve the result.

I'm Afraid of Losing Data because T5 disk is almost full.

Thank you.

Added a password to the external drive? If so...how?

What file system is on the external drive?

What versions of macOS are on the other computers which need to access this external drive?

If you currently don't have any Samsung proprietary software or drivers installed and you enabled a password, then you should not install the Samsung software. If you used Samsung software to enable the password on the drive, then you may need to update the already installed Samsung software.

FYI, you should always have frequent and regular backups of your computer and all external devices (including the cloud) which contains important & unique data. Yes, even external drives should be backed up if they contain important & unique data. Also, before making any significant changes to a system, you should make sure that all backups are current, just in case something goes wrong with the changes.
