Unable to send photos with my new iPhone to non-iPhone users through Messages

I can text with non-iPhone users from my iPhone but my pictures, videos do not go through with my new iPhone 14 pro. I can, however, send photos and videos to folks with iPhones.

Hi jcm53byu,

You started from a great resource: What is the difference between iMessage and SMS/MMS?

Regarding sending media content to non-iPhone users be sure the SMS/MMS option are turned on. Navigate to Settings > Messages and under the SMS/MMS section toggle on MMS Messaging.

If needed, the article here can assist as well: Send and receive messages on iPhone

Should you continue to have an issue, reach out to your cellular provider to ensure the feature and your account are provisioned to send SMS/MMS messages.

If your carrier states all is well, follow the steps here: If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone or iPad

Cheers.

This is a user-to-user forum. Apple doesn't participate here. A person who read the Terms of Use would know this.

Whatever the case, the total disregard for their cusomers frequently evidenced by Apple in refusing to acknowledge this problem means my next phone, after 15 years on Apple, will be anandroid

No on participating here has a vested interest in what type of phone you have. You should always buy the tool that best meets your needs.

No luck, turned off bluetooth, didn't work. Someone suggested that the pic is too large since they fail to send, but text does send w/o a problem, so I tried sending an old pic that was only 377kb ... No luck. I didn't have a problem with sending pics early Jan. Since then, I have tried many times, (using suggestions in this community)on the same phone with the same carrier, no luck. Everything continues to work perfectly with other iphone users, it's only a problem when sending to android users. Additional suggestions appreciated.

Using an iphone 8 send the pic as a message to yourself and get it via email. I have only cellular and not data so it was always impossible to do the pic via email direct from photos even when using wifi. You might lose some resolution but it goes through easily and quickly. You can also just message it to anyone as a message. I have 3 Samsungs and they work with wifi direct photo to email send. They aren't cellulared though, only wifi'd.

That was very long winded, but incorrect. Remember, the image is ALREADY IN STORAGE; it doesn’t need any more storage to send. The lowest capacity iPhone currently has 256 GB of storage, not 64 GB. But even if you have 63GB of your 7 year old iPhone’s 64 GB (the last model that was offered with only 64 GB) in use 1 GB free is not stressing it.
