My watch is paired, but the app is stuck on the pair screen

I have a new iPhone, and my watch appears to have automatically paired with it. But when I attempt to open the watch app on my phone, it won't allow me to do anything other than pair existing watch, or pair new watch. Attempted to pair existing, and it fails. Attempted to pair new watch and it fails. I'm sure it's because it's already paired, but how do I move past this screen? No other options are available.

Your Apple Watch should not automatically pair with your iPhone without going through the setup process. In order to use your Apple Watch with your iPhone you may need to re-pair it following the guidance listed in the Relevant Article above. You can also find more information below.
