Why does it look like I have to purchase the app again when I look at my child’s acct. after I share?

i just started family sharing and I am the parent and not the organizer. I have set up the kids with sharing as well. I can see my purchases listed on settings through their iPads. I choose my acct and see the apps. When I select it, it has the purchase price on it? My understanding was that I would be able to share my apps with them. I paid $250 for app a while back before family sharing was even a thing. Why can I not share the app with them if I have already purchased it?

Greetings Parentconsentneeded,

There are a few types of content that you cannot share with your family members in Family Sharing. To learn more about what can and cannot be shared, take a look at this page: What types of content can I share with my family? - Apple Support.

What you can't share

• Individual subscriptions to Apple Music, Apple One, and subscriptions and in-app purchases from non-participating apps.
• Student subscriptions, such as a student subscription to Apple Music.
• Consumable in-app purchases, such as coins or gems.
• Items that are no longer available in the App Store, iTunes Store, Books Store, or Apple TV app.
• Items that you or another member of your family group have hidden. Learn more about hidden purchases.
• Some apps from the App Store. Find out if your app is shareable.
• Content that was assigned through a child's school using Apple School Manager.
