Black square obscures most of Apple Watch series 8 face

I can only see the top eighth of my Apple Watch Screen so cannot do anything much. Any advice?

First force restart the Watch

i.e. press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for at least 10 seconds, then release both buttons when you see the Apple logo.

Then, although it may seem irrelevant, while the Watch is restarting, Force Restart the paired iphone   Force restart iPhone – Apple Support (UK)

If it is still inaccessible then  Contact Support under warranty.
