Can't login to iTunes Match

I'm trying to download my iTunes library so I can close my iTunes Match account but I'm unable to add my computer. I don't remember ever having removed my current mac from my Match account but, when I opened up Music to download my tracks I realised that I had to add to add it again.


Trouble is, when I click the 'Add this computer' button, nothing happens. And nothing happens for quite a while. The button greys out... but that's it.


Any thoughts? I've tried authorising and de-authorising the account.


(Late 2012 iMac running Catalina 10.15.7)

It's unclear where you're seeing an "Add this computer" button. To access your library, you'll just need to sign into your Apple ID in the Music app, and enable the Sync Library checkbox within Preferences. Access your music library on all your devices has this information and more.


  1. In the Music app  on your Mac, choose Account > Sign In, and enter the Apple ID and password you used to subscribe to iTunes Match.
  2. Choose Music > Preferences, click General, then select the Sync Library checkbox.


Let us know if you continue to experience issues accessing your library using this method.

I'm signed in to my account (and my computer has been authorised) and yes, the 'Sync library' is checked. (see attached.)


The point where I'm getting stuck is where the 'Add this computer' button is when I select iTunes store in the left hand nav, scroll to the bottom and click the iTunes Match link. (Again, in the screengrab.) You can see from the grab that it's in its selected state but has been stuck like that for 3 days now. I've quit/force quit and tried again but no luck.
