Erase All Content and Settings iPad Pro Troubleshoot

Hi everyone,

I've got a bit of an issue. We wanted to transfer my partner's iPad Pro to myself as he's got a new one. However, I've made a bit of a mistake as I've misread one of the things when going through the setup and we don't know how to fix it.

We went through the process of 'Erase All Content and Settings' and got to the new setup. But I accidentally clicked 'set up like your other iPad' instead of setting it up as a new one.

Wouldn't be a big deal, right? Well... We've let it finish the new set up and wanted to go straight back to re-do the whole process of 'Erase All Content and Settings'. I go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad > Erase All Content and Settings. Then I'm entering my credentials and after that it wants to do an iCloud backup. The backup starts but it always says 'Time remaining: About 1 minute'. We've let it stay on that for about an hour and nothing happens.

We've tried restarting the iPad and starting over and we also tried to skip the backup as the data has been backed up into iCloud with the first run of the process anyway. But same thing... It stays on that 'About 1 minute' forever. We also did the restart by volume up, then down, then power button. Didn't fix it either...

How can we force the 'Erase All Content and Settings' process? Is there any fix to this?

Grateful for any help.

Thanks in advance

iPad Pro
