Why is my iPhone silencing calls?

During the day my iPhone 12 Pro with iOS 16.1.1 does not have any Focus active but calls from phone numbers that are not in my contacts list are silenced.

Troubleshooting Filtered Numbers:

Are you using any filters on your iPhone? If so, disable them.

This is irrespective of Focus/DND.


You may turn on/off Silence Unknown Callers, go to Settings > Phone, then scroll down, tap Silence Unknown Callers, and turn on/off the feature. If ON, calls from unknown numbers are silenced and sent to your voicemail, and appear in your recent calls list.
