Handwritings and drawings in Freeform not syncing properly to my device

I have the same problem (April 2023), problem still persists. I can see the original notes on the iPad, but when trying to open on iPhone / Mac – the same thing happens.

Is there any feedback on how to solve / manage this?

I luckily haven’t noticed it in notes . I hope I never do.

it’s frustrating because I want to love it .I’ve noticed that if you duplicate a board , sometimes it can do the same thing to the original. So I’ve lost some data on my iPad now similar to on Mac.

but luckily I’ve been pretty much using notes anyway - I had one serious project in Freeform .

• fix the sync issue
• introduce auto shapes
• give us a dark , and blue canvas

and this app would be chefs kiss

Update to this - unsure long term if the sync issue is resolved but they added auto shapes in ios17 . I have the developer release on my iPad . Still no folders for organising boards though from what I can see

on my device, it is suddenly closed during lesson. and some parts of my lecture notes are missing. but now, the problem became more complicated and i can’t even read my own notes bc most of handwritten letters are deleted. i share this problem with technical support hope they fix.

I have the same issue. This is unacceptable. I lost important study notes because Freeform didn't properly sync and now I am missing a big chunk of my written notes!

How about old boards that miss parts of the handwritten text? How to recover that?

I went back to GoodNotes. Apple have a long way to go still with Freeform

I still have the same issue using latest OS versions on Mac/iPad/iPhone.

I am facing the same problem. I am on iPadOS 16.3. this is happening on both my iPad Pro and my iPad mini well as my iPhone.

Same for me.

Problem still persists.

I updated my devices:

• macOS Ventura 13.2.1
• iPadOS 16.3.1

And the issue still persists.

With latest ipados 16.3.1,

Also, i have updated all my other devices.

Same.

Updated everything (and I mean EVERYTHING), opened the doc on my iPad and added a little scribble to try to force a fresh sync.

Only parts of the new scribble made it to my other devices.

This is making me crazy too. I've duplicated boards, turned freeform on and off, and even erased and reset my iPhone and iPad. Still, the handwriting only shows in fragments on any other devices.
