Handwritings and drawings in Freeform not syncing properly to my device

I can categorically confirm that iPadOS 16.3 or 16.3.1 has NOT fixed this bug and it's now got to the point where myself and the whole office is going to have to stop using Freeform because of it (and Apples apparent reluctance to fix it).

The only way I can share boards at the moment is to group select items and copy / paste them into an email!

Here's an example of what I'm getting after creating a board on my iPad Air 5;

iPad original (running iPadOS 16.3.1) created during the meeting.

Mac Studio (running Ventura 13.2.1) around 30 mins later once meeting was finished

iPhone 14 Pro Max (running iOS 16.3.1) just to see how it looked

Apple - please don't beta test on customers who have paid thousands of $$ to join the integrated Apple experience! 😢

I haven't had cause to share boards with anyone but I'm on the most recent version of everything and experiencing this exact issue via iCloud.

Everything looks fine on my iPad where the drawings and hand written notes where made (Doc originated on my Mac) but the sketches and hand written stuff is missing more than half of what should be there on my Mac.

Still gotta go through the troubleshooting steps but this board was created on 16.3 and Ventura 13.2 so I'm guessing it's not entirely resolved yet. 😪

I also have completely fragmented boards in freeform after sync.

The original on my iPad mini (iPadOS 16.3.1) looks perfect.

Synced Version on my iPhone mini 12 (iOS 16.3.1) is destroyed.

Synced Versio on my MacBook Air (M1) (Mac OS Ventura, 13.2.1 (22D68)) is destroyed.

In this state unfortunately not usable. Major bug. Please fix asap.

Deleting on Mac and iPhone by disabling iCloud Sync doesn't help.

From my observations/guessing it concerns especially parts that have been edited, deleted, or similar.

Any Ideas how to solve instead of waiting for Apple to fix?

Exact same issue here.

Just like in oldwebble's case, only fragments of my handwriting sync to my Mac and iPhone.

That's a pain.

iPhone 13 mini on iOS 16.3

The original is on the iPad (on which I also do most of the editing) and it's perfect. On all other devices the result is - let's say shuttered. More important than on my Macbook (M1 Air) iPhone, on team members' devices.

The copy paste solution only ever helps for a moment and cannot be considered a "solution" to the problem.

I also think to myself, the "markup" of such a complex tool is "demanding".

And we didn't even work on it at the same time.

I have also not yet tried hardcore to reproduce the previous errors.

But the old fragmented contents are still fragmented and the old document.

Even after editing something on the board.

And I haven't yet done a test with a newly created document.

Only solution, unfortunately, is to not sync the notes. Turn the off the sync and only sync the notes when the issue is fixed.

Personally I went back GoodNotes. The pencil experience is better anyway

It still doesn’t work under the instructions you provide on my iPad Pro 2018 with iPadOS 16.3 (20D47). All my handwriting on Freeform is partially missing while sharing to the others, making the handwritings of Freeform impossible to sync on any other iOS or macOS devices.

I'm running into the same issue, handwritten notes on iPad missing some of the content on my MacBook and iPhone.

All devices updated to their latest versions. Ive just tried one board with lots of content, kinda laggy on the iPad when scrolling around.

Same issue as everyone and I just updated as well to 16.3.1 (iOS and iPadOS). Mac is running Ventura 13.2.1

iPad Freeform has ALL of my handwritten notes yet I'm missing a lot on my iPad and MacBook Air.

I tested sharing then removing access and re-sharing but still had an issue. Was "testing" with a iMac running Ventura 13.2.1 (latest). The iMac already had the last OS so not sure if that makes a difference.

Most of the Freeform boards I use aren't shared - just want to be able to view/edit from my devices (iPad Pro latest, iPhone 14 Pro and MacBook Air M2).

I'll open a ticket w/ Apple with the hopes it will raise awareness if they are getting complaints.

Problem is still there, handwritten notes, created on iPad 4th Gen, cannot be viewed neither on MacBook Pro 16" (Intel, 2019) nor on iPhone 13 Pro Max

All OSes are up to date, notes not shared - my own

I am experiencing the same thing. Free form works awesome on my iPad 11 Pro with the Apple Pencil 2, but after I move to the M1 Mac then most of the hand written portions are erased. Hand written notes are completely unusable if I try to work on another device.

Hi, I just ran the update on Mac and iPad today. Unfortunately on MacOS with Ventura 13.3 the issue still exits. Freeform on Mac is still buggy with displaying (sync) the hand drawing parts correctly. It still looks like in the screenshot from "oldwebble" at Jan 29, 2023 4:38 AM

but every update on the iPad isn't synced properly. again and again. furthermore cropped and replaced content is grouped and not longer easy editable.

No solution at all. I guess I have to go back to miro.

I appreciate if apple tries to do something better, more easy than competitors. It works a bit with maps, but freeform has a long way to go - unfortunately because in general I love it.

Same problem for me, which is clearly an issue based on feedback in this forum — seems strange for Apple release a product that seems to be incomplete, has a solution been found yet?
