Bookmarks synch between Chrome and iCloud not working

Hi community,

I searched the web and also in here to find an answer, but with no success. Please apologize if I missed the right thread during my investigation.

I have a Windows 10 PC and want to synch bookmarks between Chrome and iCloud. I do have iCloud for Windows installed and the Chrome extension for iCloud bookmarks is installed and active. However, if I check the box for bookmark synch in iCloud for Windows, it keeps asking for loading the Chrome extension. But as mentioned it's already there. I don't get it to work.

Both, Chrome and iCloud for Windows are up to date.

Thanks in advance!

Hey there fipships,

While this sounds like something you'll need to reach out to Google Support for, we'd like to help however we can. First, let's make sure you have setup this feature properly by having you check this Apple resource for this feature:

Set up iCloud Bookmarks on your Windows computer - Apple Support

Next, to rule out some possible causes, along with confirming more details to better understand what's happening, please answer the questions below:

  1. If you've already made sure that both iCloud for Windows and Google Chrome are the latest versions available, have you also made sure you're running the latest updates from Microsoft for Windows?
  2. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart, but have you already tried one since this first began?
  3. Any issues with syncing other content?
  4. If you've reached out to Google Support already, which steps were tried, and what was discussed?

Cheers!
