AW Ultra Bluetooth dropping HRM strap

My ultra is constantly dropping my Garmin HRM pro from Bluetooth. I can connect it by taping it but as soon as I leave the Bluetooth screen and go back to Bluetooth it shows my hrm as not connected. I’ve tried all the suggested fixes. Apple said talk to Garmin, Garmin said talk to apple. It also does it on my friends series 7. Is this an OS bug? Why does my phone hold the connection but the watch won’t? Why does workout equipment hold it but my new top of the line adventure watch won’t!? So irritating
