What's the deal with storing "less secure passwords"?

In System Preferences>>> Sharing, Options it states "Windows *may* store passwords in a less secure manner*

What does this mean exactly ? I know Apple would store passwords in a one-way hash, so would this text be "anything that is not stored this way, less than ideal ??"

Its probably safe to ignore yes?

Shared Passwords don't show on the iCloud Passwords app for Windows PC. If you are taking advantage of the new sharing functionality of passwords in iOS 17 and use the windows desktop version of the passwords manager either through the browser extension or through iCloud, Shared passwords do not shown on windows and disappear completely. They can still be viewed on iOS, and I believe Mac OS on the latest update but not on windows. This seems to indicate the iCloud app for windows is not updated in line with iOS or mac OS, but this is just an assumption.

Shared Passwords Not Showing on Mac I have fully embraced the new Passwords app. I have a group of passwords that I share with my family that appear on all my devices except my Mac. That entire group of passwords is missing. I've seen several posts about this, but yet to see a post with a solution, so posting this again. Passwords in iCloud setting is set to 'sync' for all devices. I've tried toggling that on and off. Any ideas out there?

Keychain passwords Is the "local Items" keychain password the same as my Macbook password? I've entered my Macbook password and it works sometimes and not other times in trying to see my saved passwords. I'm running latest version of Ventura.
