iPad WiFi (non GPS) External gps antenna

Can I connect a gps antenna to my iPad WiFi only and make it work as a marine plotter? If so what is the type of gps antenna needed?

Yes, you can use an external GPS Receiver with any model of iPad - including WiFi+Cellular models of iPad that already have built-in GNSS/GPS positioning capability.


Compatible GPS Receivers will connect to the iPad using Bluetooth, WiFi or a USB connection.


Of available third-party GPS Receivers, the Garmin Glo and BadElf receivers have good reputation.
