Macbook air m1 charging very slowly

I have a Macbook air m1 2020. It is charging very slowly. I have run the diagnosis test. It shows all components run smoothly(Code: APD000). Also, my adapter and cable look good.

Thank You for your reply, but it does not help. Another thing I have noticed is that while charging if my laptop goes to sleep, the charging becomes slow. Also, the time remaining for a full charge is not shown in the battery icon, but In running condition, it charges smoothly.

Hello chatterjeesid,

Let's start with ensuring that Optimized Battery Charging isn't the cause of this. This feature would delay charging past 80% . If battery charging is paused or on hold on your Mac has this information and more.

"Pause or turn off Optimized Battery Charging in macOS Ventura

  1. Choose Apple menu  > System Settings.
  2. Click Battery in the sidebar.
  3. Click the Show Detail button  next to Battery Health.
  4. Turn off “Optimized battery charging,” then click Turn Off or Turn Off Until Tomorrow.
  5. Click Done.

Pause or turn off Optimized Battery Charging in macOS Monterey or earlier

  1. Choose Apple menu  > System Preferences.
  2. Click Battery, then select Battery in the sidebar.
  3. Deselect “Optimized battery charging,” then click Turn Off or Turn Off Until Tomorrow."

We look forward to hearing back from you.

Regards.

Hello chatterjeesid,

To better understand the issue, we have some questions to clarify:

  • Do you keep external monitors or drives connected to this Mac while it sleeps? As these may be causing the Mac's battery to drain instead of charging or slow down the charging speeds.

These answers will help us to narrow down the issue further, so we can recommend a solution.

We look forward to hearing back soon, take care.
