2 macOS on same disk

I have a Mac mini 2014 running Monterey.

I would like to be able to run a 32-bit macOS on this machine so that I can use older apps. However I have run into failures with trying to do it myself.

I don't currently have access to a flash drive but can get one if needed; solutions without one would be preferable.

Thank you in advance.

It might be possible but a @jefferythefrog mentioned - rung the additional Older Version from External Drive and preferred on an SSD Drive which is way faster that any Rotational Drive

Reasons for doing this is simple - All the Eggs in One Basket and the Basket falls - Scrambled Eggs

Please explain the Failures.

The suggested way to have multiple versions would be to use APFS volumes for each. However, while it will run in a Volume, you cannot install High Sierra in a Volume. You would either need to install it first, then install Ventura in another Volume, or partition the drive, or use an external (probably best option at this point).

Installing from Internet Recovery is always cumbersome. I don’t know why it failed in your case. USB installers work the best, but you may run into the same failure because the problem isn’t related to the install source.

If the drive is APFS, you can’t install Sierra on it. If you partitioned, you can make that partition Mac OS Extended. You can’t do so with a volume.

High Sierra understands APFS.

Best I not take up any more go your time.

Good luck though.

Am confident another Contributor will jump in on the OS X 10.12 Sierra issue which is well know to be a Certificate within the DMG which has Expired some years ago.

That specific Expired Certificate, Apple has known about for a good amount of time and appears they never fixed it either.
