How to fix massive and constant breaking in screen time?

Hello, for several months I have been having the biggest glitches with screen time I have ever seen in the years it has been used on me. Every few days it is broken. I would like to list what seems to cause it and the results of it happening to see if this bug is known to Apple. I am tired of having to manually ask for my settings to be re-enabled every few days for about 3 months, and I doubt many other young ones are very eager to speak up about this happening so this may be going undetected.

Note: Also happens on iPad Mini 4, and all because it breaks on one device doesn’t always mean it breaks on the other.

The following things have a chance (never guaranteed) of triggering this glitch;

  1. A screen time request being approved, usually during downtime
  2. Any website on Safari crashing
  3. Device being shutdown and turned on
  4. Phone not connected to Wi-Fi for a few days
  5. Sometimes triggers for no reason at all

When the glitch occurs, one or more of the following things happen;

  1. App limits are deleted.
  2. Downtime shows as on but everything is allowed/downtime is turned off
  3. Always allowed apps are reset to the basic apps removing all other added apps
  4. Content restrictions either turn off, or show that they are enabled but do not block anything.
  5. The last app open will count screen time constantly for a day regardless of device shutdowns or app being closed.

Usually not all of these glitches happen at once, instead the glitch causes a couple of these to happen.

The bug sometimes corrects itself after several days, but if the app limits are deleted I need to ask for each one to be re-added.

I would like to know if anyone else has this issue, and although I have found no way to fix it yet, I hope Apple can patch this.

Had a call with Apple yesterday. Follow up after doing diagnostics on all devices. Engineering said it is now considered a known issue. They do not know what is causing it as of their reply to her. No more follow up with me. She said a fix will be in the form of an update to devices once engineers are able to fix the problem. She said to look out for updates as they come. At least it is FINALLY a known issue they are working on. I’m confident they will find a fix now that they know it’s a problem.

I don't use all the features you mention, but my experience is roughly the same. It's hard to tell which actions trigger it. I haven't tested it myself to see if I can reproduce the issue, so it feels kinda random. But you could be right about things like approval of request might trigger it. I'm really curious to Apple's response to Tgarrett07. Please share if you hear back from Apple.
