Airpod pro case light not working

I've had airpods pros for about a year now and everything has been going all right but recently my airpod case won't turn on without it being charged, it will shine a green light and quickly turn to Amber. I looked on this site for solutions and I found out that my airpods are from different generations I was wondering if I can fix this problem still having different generation airpods or do I have to keep a lightless airpod case
