connect airport express to base for airplay

I'm attempted a number of times to connect an Airport Express A1392 to my home router in order to stream Airplay2 to my traditional stereo receiver. When powered up the A1392 appears in AirPort Utility as Airport Express f41116. The Utility recognizes the device, I select Other Options....Add to an existing network. I then select Connect To 'my network'. I enter my existing network name and passwork twice. It starts the joining process....but before completion always messages "An unexpected error occurred. Try Again". Any ideas on what's going wrong?

Thanks

This is a common bug with AirPort Utility on a Mac.

Do you have an iPhone or iPad handy to use to try to set up the AirPort Express?

If yes, and you are not that familiar with using an iPhone or iPad to set up an AirPort base station, post back for more instruction.
