i have some apps that were FREE from the app store that i deleted a while ago. it shows the little cloud icon indicating i can download the app again since i’ve already previously installed it. but, when i press the symbol, it prompts me to sign in. when i sign in, it makes me confirm my payment method. and when i do, it says payment method declined. on a FREE app. i have tried many different things and nothing seems to fix this. please help.

You must have a valid payment method established with your Apple ID before you can download and install any app whether it is a free app or a paid app.
If you are having difficulty establish a valid payment method then either contact your bank (card issuer) and/or contact 👉 Apple Support
