How can I stop pages for Mac inserting random commas in dictation?

There has clearly been some faulty modification to the dictation programme for Pages in recent months. I am now constantly plagued by unnecessary and incorrectly inserted commas is when I'm dictating using the Pages programme on Ventura - which I have them to go back and correct.

I don't imagine there is any way to switch off this particular irritation without giving up the use of the dictation facility entirely. I imagine a modification to the programme needs to be made by someone to go back to the way things were before. Another of the regular occurrences of the "If it works, fix it so that it doesn't anymore" advances – so to speak – in the electronic technology world.

One hopes there are people responsible for programming who read this community forum.

Apologies for the somewhat irritated tone.

Hi Úbetense,

I agree with R Gabriel, the Community Specialist providing your only reply to date.

As can be seen from the 'similar questions' discovered by the community software, 1. yours is not an isolated issue, and 2. no one in this user to user community has so far replied with a solution.

Apples presence in these communities is quite limited. Hosts/Moderators monitor for adherence to the terms of use agreed to when you (and I) signed in and Community Specialists keep an eye out for questions that have not received a reply within a time frame that appears to be about 24 hours.

Neither Apple Leadership nor the development teams for the products discussed in the various communities participate in these user to user discussions.

Your next step may well be to use the link in R Gabriel's post to get in touch with Apple Support. Be prepared to give a detailed description of the issue as it appears on your Mac; the more detail you can provide, the more likely the person at the other end will be able to make an accurate diagnosis and provide steps to take to cure it.

A second thing you should do is go to the Pages menu in Pages, choose the Provide Pages Feedback item, and file a bug report regarding this issue. As with Apple Support conversations, detail is important.

Feedback to the Dictation development team might be useful as well, but a check of the Apple Products Feedback webpage ( Product Feedback - Apple ) doesn't show a means of sending feedback in that direction.

Regards,

Barry
