Is anyone having issues with Facebook scrolling and jumping through posts when you don't even have your hand on the mouse?

Yes. Facebook has become unusable for me on the Mac. If you're in the general timeline feed (House icon towards the top left), FB spews out ad after ad without you doing anything.
I timed it twice, and both times FB barfed up ads for 30 seconds straight before it finally stopped. By then, an article I actually wanted to read had been pushed up and off the top of the list. I couldn't even get back to it.
I did check my settings and had every possible ad control set to never show ads (as much as you can turn off). Made no difference.
This doesn't happen if I'm on my iPad using Facebook's dedicated app.
Edit: Per some of other comments here, it seems to be directly related to the current version of Safari and Ventura. If I use Firefox (same OS), no problem.

I see loads of people are having the same issue, my question is how do you let Apple know there is a problem & has anybody spoken with them about this issue?
and do you have a realistic link that will get to facebook, where they will actually look at it?
Don't know how realistic it is, but gave it a shot. Don't know who is the culprit Apple or FB. I sent a message to Apple based on IdrisSeabright response.
I already sent several messages to safari and to apple. I hope they are getting bombarded because this needs fixed. I think the problem to getting worse.
i reported this to Facebook today. Hope it makes some difference but i do not have high hopes.
just tried it, it does work but it changes the entire configuration of facebook and if you leave facebook you need to redo it, as it reverts back....
YES! It is driving me kooky. I've tried everything that has been suggested and nothing is fixing it.

I've check this morning and mine seems to be working fine again, so i'm guessing after being bombarded by everybody they have listened and sorted the issue out. Thank You.
I think the problem is now fixed ! Scrolling down the Facebook newsfeed in Safari works fine now. No automatically scrolling and jumping.

so it WAS a facebook issue, not apple. Let the record reflect.
