Organizing photos from icloud with original photo date
So, my wife has been trying [unsuccessfully] to arrange photos for her scrapbooking by using our iCloud storage [she's on a Windows machine, I am all Mac based]. It looks like there is no way [short of finding a third party application] to download photos arranged by their original creation date. She has tried and tried to look for the original dates, but she can't. I can, on my Mac, but it looks like that is not an option for Windows users. How helpful.
IMO, this is one of the works UX/UI gaffs I've ever experienced. Arranging photos by their original date should be a default, no matter when they are downloaded. The fact that Apple requires a user to view each photo is individually to try and find the original date with a different application is, quite frankly, one of the most idiotic UX decisions I've ever had to deal with. And then, find a third-party application to do the most basic of functions is beyond stupid. I guess their UX designers figure people who save their photos to iCloud have no reason to want to sort photos by their original date. How silly of us to expect that kind of functionality.
That being said, I've read the older threads about why this is [i.e., Exif files + metadata]. Does anyone know of a solid app that I can download to help with this issue? Apparently, there is no workaround that doesn't involve going through each photo individually to determine the original date [so that they may be arranged chronologically], regardless of download date and/or device. This is an extremely frustrating and tedious job, especially when you have hundreds of photos to sort.
I apologize for the rant, but this is an extremely frustrating issue.
