Why is it that when I wear my watch, the special tone I USE for VIP does not give me the selected tone on my iPhone and iPad ? Only when I have my watch on my wrist…?

If the variation of tones is important you can set up Messages Notifications in the My Watch tab of the Watch app to
Custom, then turn off notifications.
Then notifications will always go to the iPhone whether or not it is open and in use
Watch does not have that level of choice of sounds for notifications.

I also found out that my watch did not have the “sound” on…I will see if it make a difference.
