Can't add edited photos to Shared Album

I've created a Shared Album on my iMac, but i'm having some weird issues adding some of my photos to it, and it's only happening with edited photos.

I can add the original no problems, but when i make adjustments to the photo using the "Light" slider i can no longer add it to the album and i get the error message:

"There was an error adding the selected items to 'New Zealand (Shared)'"

Another thing i noticed, which i suspect is related, is that while i'm making those Light adjustments, the image remains sharp and good quality like the original. But as soon as i click on "Done" button and go back to the library view the image degrades and looks blurred/fuzzy, though the file size remains the same. I tried some of the other editing features (retouch, colour) and the same thing happened.

The photos were taken with an Olympus Stylus1 and are RAW format with the .ORF extension.

I'm on an 2017 27inch iMac, running Ventura 13.0.1

Any suggestions as to what's going on and how to fix/prevent it?

iMac 27″, macOS 10.13
