Pixelated wallpaper on iPhone iOS 16.2

I updated my iPhone 12 mini to iOS 16.2 and my wallpaper (the same as in previous iOS) keeps getting pixelated after a while. Resetting the wallpaper only works for some time, then it becomes pixelated again. Any idea how to fix this?

I’ve found a solution that works for me.


When playing music, the album art in the Lock Screen can be tapped to increase its size, when this happens, it blurs the background and for some reason the wallpaper stays permanently pixelated.


Once I tap the enlarged Lock Screen album art to make it small again, it fixes the pixelation.

Lock screen or home screen or both?

If you want your solution to be widely useful we really need to know more about the environment, particularly as this is not a common complaint.
