I would like to put contact information on my home page so that anyone that finds my phone (if I loose it) can call my home landline and tell me how to retrieve the phone. How do I add such info to my home page?
The easiest way is to compose the message in some text app (Pages or Notes, for example), take a screenshot of it, then make that your lock screen wallpaper.
Also, note that if your phone is lost you can put it into Lost Mode, and display a message on the screen→Use the Find My app to locate a missing device or item - Apple Support, so you may not need to put this on your lock screen ahead of it being list.

paperbruce ~ The following custom shortcut will create a JPEG from the contact text you've defined in the shortcut. Tap this iCloud link to add the shortcut to your library:
• Tapping that link should show a blue +Add Shortcut button at the bottom.
• Tap it and the Create Lock Screen icon will appear in the Shortcuts app.
• Tap the circle containing three dots and edit the 🟨 Text action.
• Tap Done at upper right.
• Tap the middle of the icon to create & put your Lock Screen image in Photos > Recents album.
• Then use that image to Personalize your iPhone Lock Screen

What I do, is find any photo I want as my lock screen wallpaper. Then I open the photo, tap Edit. Then in the upper right hand corner tap the circle with a pencil in it. You can then use markup to add text to the photo, add what you want to add, then save. Then choose the edited photo with text on it as your lock screen wallpaper.
