Hi apple-support, hi community,
is there a opportunity to change the login-background (NOT desktop background wallpaper!)?
I tried some older "how to´s" but nothing worked.

you can only make the login screen match your user account's wallpaper. you cannot set it as a separate image.
if you are the sole user (not even a guest account) AND file vault is turned off you can go to System Settings, in the Lock Screen tab, and set "Login window shows" to "List of users". then your login screen matches your desktop background.
if you are using file vault or have multiple users, the above will not work. if that's your situation, you will need to wait for apple to address this. it may be worth your time to send feedback directly to apple. Feedback - macOS - Apple

Apple isn't here. We're all end users like yourself. Also there's nothing to fix as Apple didn't intend for us to change that item since the system is not on a Read Only volume.
Tell Apple what missing features you'd like restored or new features added to the system via Feedback - macOS - Apple.
You can only change it if there are no other user account on the Mac and there is no user account. Then I'm not sure it it will work at a boot from being shut down or just when put to sleep and you have to enter your password to un-sleep the Mac.
What previous methods have you tried?
Hi jeff, thanks for your answer. I tried to switch between this options but the login-background ist still the orange-ventura-background. I only have one user and the original deactivated guest-user.
I directly send a feedback to apple to check if they can implement it in the next update.

you're welcome. and if you do indeed only have one user, the "List of users" option should have given you the desired results. are you willing to share a screenshot of your "system settings > users & groups" panel?
OK. well, those settings do appear to be correct. I cannot explain why it's not working for you, except to ask the question in my last reply.

I tried to change the png in libary/ cache . But there is no file.
Cant believe that i have to search here for a solution. Its so microsoft windows like :-D

the login-background ist still the orange-ventura-background. The "List of users option" ist active. I restarted and the background ist orange. It doesnt work.
Thanks for your help. It´s a 6 months old private Mac Book Pro 14" with nearly all default settings (only some apps installed).
you're welcome. I'm sorry, but I'm out of ideas. you may want to see if the "desktop pictures" method (found in the second page of Changing the startup screen in Ventura) works.
