Apple TV 4th gen won’t turn on.

Hey my Apple TV 4th generation won’t turn on. It has a continuous blinking light. Also the apple icon in my tv shows up twice in a row and then shuts off a couple minutes then comes back on. Tried new hdmi, restarting with remote, holding back and down volume for 6 seconds, tried hooking up to mac USB-c port Doesn’t recognize anything is connected. Any tips?!

If you see a continuously flashing status light, that indicates a failure to start up properly. First try a cold restart (disconnect from power for a minute or two). If that doesn’t improve it, then the system software may need to be re-installed. For the 4th generation HD model, users can do this themselves through a computer.

Restore your Apple TV - Apple Support

Note to power the Apple TV box at the indicated moment (step #4).

Note to use a fully wired, generic USB-C cable that supports data transfer. Some USB cables do charging only, or are proprietary to a bundled different device. Those wouldn’t be suitable.
