I can't type in some numbers and letters on my keyboard: 7 8 9 u I o j k l m. this is a new lsaptop i bought 3 days ago. i took it back, they ran tests said it is all working. so i drove home 35 minutes away and i still cannot enter my password with 8 as part of my password.

Google "789uiojkl" to see some info about this. You just have to turn OFF Mouse Keys in your accessibility preferences. Sometimes hitting the Option key 5 times will do it too.

Yes. All you have to do is turn OFF the special Mouse Keys feature in the Accessibility settings to fix this. stedman1 gave you a link.
Are you able to type every alphanumeric and special character into a program such as Notes? Use that as evidence when you show ‘them’.

I just did check on notes with tech support NO the letters/numbers don’t work. Next step is higher support in the morning.
I will try that. I used an Apple mouse, and maybe I hit some settings. Can I still use the Magic mouse? I prefer to use the mouse.
