converting pdf table to Mac numbers

I have a financial table which I can only get in PDF. How do I paste it in a usable form into Mac Numbers?

You can select the tablular data in your PDF financial table by clicking and dragging across it. Then copy to the clipboard. Open a new Numbers spreadsheet table, and click once on the cell (e.g. A1) where you want the PDF data to be deposited, and then paste and match style. This will only work if the PDF has no copy restrictions placed on it. I just tested this with a PDF opened in Preview and with Numbers v12.2.1 on Ventura 13.1.

Then there is Peggy's suggestion.

And then for added expense, there is Adobe Acrobat DC Pro and Nitro PDF Pro, both of which should offer an Excel Spreadsheet export option. The latter application certainly does, but it is disabled in the free trial.
