Passcode after restore

do I need to remember the passcode for a back up from before the restore if I forgot it how do I get that back up back

iPhone 7, iOS 15

Sorry, the password for an encrypted backup can be reset, but only to create a new backup:

To turn off backup encryption, uncheck the "Encrypt local backup" checkbox in the Finder or iTunes and enter the password. If you can't remember your password, you have two options:

If you are using a Mac, the password might be part of your keychain information, if you enabled the keychain feature in macOS.
