Why is iMovie turning my photos vertical if they are horizontal

Hi,
I don't know why iMovie is turning your horizontal photos vertical. I assume that you mean that they are rotated so that they appear sideways and vertical in the preview screen.
In any event, you can select the photo, or a string of contiguous photos, in the timeline and then click on the crop button and use the rotation rectangles to rotate the photo back to horizontal.
