Can 2023 MacBook Pro charge at 140W via USB-C?

I just ordered a 2023 16" MacBook Pro. I know it comes with the 140W charger plus a USB-C to MagSafe 3 adapter. I plan to order a 2nd 140W charger for travel use but what I'd like to know is do I need to purchase a USB-C to MagSafe 3 adapter or can I use a USB-C cable for 140W charging. I know USB-C cables are being sold now that support up to 240W charging. From what I've read the 2021 MacBook Pro did not support the new USB PD 3.1 charging spec via USB-C. Does anyone know if the 2023 USB-C ports support the faster charging standard?

standard USB-C cables can provide at most 100 Watts power.

To charge at a rate higher than that requires you to use MagSafe cable/connector.
