Airdrop to Macbook routinely not working

I have a macbook pro (2015 15"; OS Monterey 12.6) and routinely am unable to airdrop from my iphone to the macbook. In my iphone I can see that the computer is available for airdrop but when I click on it to send a file, it just says waiting on the icon and nothing happens. The only way I can get airdrop to work is to turn off bluetooth on my mac, wait for the mac to stop showing on my iphone, then turn on bluetooth. Then airdrop works however when I go to use it the following day, I have to do the same process. Is there a way to fix this?

  1. "Make sure that both devices are within 30 feet (9 meters) of each other and have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on.
  2. Choose Go > AirDrop from the menu bar in the Finder, then check the ”Allow me to be discovered by” setting in the AirDrop window. iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch have a similar setting. If set to receive from Contacts Only, both devices must be signed in to iCloud, and the email address or phone number associated with the sender's Apple ID must be in the Contacts app of the receiving device.
  3. Install the latest software updates for your Mac and other devices.
  4. Make sure that incoming connections aren't blocked in firewall settings:
  5. macOS Ventura or later: Choose Apple menu  > System Settings. Click Network in the sidebar, then click Firewall on the right. Click the Options button, then make sure that “Block all incoming connections” is turned off.
  6. Earlier versions of macOS: Choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click Security & Privacy. Click the Firewall tab, then click the lock  and enter your administrator password when prompted. Click Firewall Options, then make sure that “Block all incoming connections” is deselected.
