Removal from Group Text

For Group Text, Mute and Hide Alerts are NOT working the way they should (I know how they are SUPPOSED to work)...and I cannot Leave Conversation - How do I STOP THIS BEFORE I THROW SOMETHING?!

Leaving a group message is only an option if everyone in the group is using iMessage. If anyone is using SMS, you will need to ask the people in the group to create a new group without you.

You should still be able to mute the alerts for the group, though.

Hi, IdrisSeabright -- thanks for your response. I understand about not being able to remove myself if others in the thread are not using iMessage (which is the case, apparently -- and there are a LOT of people in this thread, generating a LOT of messages). What is frustrating now is that the other options of Mute and Hide Alerts are also not working, at all. My phone is up-to-date in terms of IOS, and I've tried turning off and back on (several times). Nope.

So, if you start at the main conversation screen in Messages, put your finger on the group conversation and pull to the left, you don't see the purple box with a bell in it? You should be able to tap on that to mute alerts from that conversation.
