What if my mac is asking the username and the password to log in after restarting, and I know the password, but don't remember the username?

Your username is admin/user account name when you first set up your Mac from day one.

In macOS Ventura it is slightly different, but the principle is the same:

Your username is admin/user account name when you first set up your Mac from day one.

In macOS Ventura it is slightly different, but the principle is the same:
You can use either the long user name or the short user name. If you would have used your own name, then try typing that for the user name. Generally the short user name is the same as the long user name, but without any spaces. Of course the user is able to change the short user name when setting up the Mac for the first time so there may or may not be a correlation between the long & short names.
